Here's the updated schedule. Please add a description of how you will give away the basket at the end of your demonstrations. The theme of our booth will be "St. Croix Libraries--Growing with Special Exhibits"
in the SCLA
NASA Educator Resource Center @ CC Library
There will be an ongoing robotics demonstration with legos embeded with sensors for light, movement, and temperature. Demonstrations of how the devices are programed and how the signal is transmitted from a laptop to the movable rover vehicle constructed of legos. Patrons will be able to sit at a small table and try some simple programming/designing. Each participant will leave their name and a drawing will be held for a basket at 12pm.

Demonstration in the use of Medline Plus and PubMed databases from the National Library of Medicine. Medline Plus is a user friendly database that allows patrons to locate information on diseases and treatments, various health conditions, prescription drugs and supplements and provides interactive videos and tutorials on health issues.
PubMed is a sophisticated medical database with full-text articles and citations to research materials on medical and health topics. This database is most beneficial to nurses, physicians, and other health professionals.
Brochures, bookmarks and other promotional materials will be distributed to the community. Laptop computers will be on hand for users to navigate through the databases and learn how to locate reliable health information.

It will be an outreach for the Library as well as an
educational experience detailing the services our specialized
Library for those who are unable to usetraditional books. Machines and digital books will be demonstrated. In addition applications and brochures for interested
persons will be available.
Federal Depository Library
Letitia Gittens Similar outreach activity and I will demonstrate how easy it is to access government information online. Also I am here to assist persons who may need help obtaining government information and also need help navigating both the online services and the paper products we have on site. We are the only depository on St. Croix but there is one in St. Thomas at UVI
Please note- the only definite time is for the NASA-but if someone else needs this slot I am FLEXIBLE.
The above basically only represents the libraries that have indicated they WILL take a slot for presenting in the SCLA section of the booth in the exhibit hall.
