The 2010 Library Literacy Grant has covered the cost of a one-year subscription to Discovery Education. Students and teachers in grades 7-12 may view/download videos in all subjects. Another component of the Library Literacy Grant purchased 15 sets of class novels. Discovery Education has created lesson plans that include videos to accompany these titles with many activities, assignments, and assessments. Click here to view/download the plans for each.

Last Tuesday, April 29th, the librarians met for a grant writing session. We will repeat it again at your convenience. Below please click on the link to download the application for the Luddington Literacy Grant up to $2,500. This is the application we reviewed together last Tuesday and made some notations.
If you are a St. Croix School librarian you will be receiving an email with a draft proposal attached. The proposal is to use the Learn-it collection to allow students to generate points towards gift certificates at all the bookstores. Bulletin boards will reflect students points as they change. Other bulletin boards will display some student work used to generate points. We would like to propose that the top ten students determined by the 2nd week in December be given an option to ride on (dance on) the "school library float" during the Childrens' Parade and dress up in the character of thier choice (appropriateness considered). Other compensation would be awarded to students choosing not to ride on the float.
Please watch for this email
